Motor carriers are poised to undergo an incredible transformation in the next decade as self-driving capability becomes more ubiquitous and innovations in platooning and active safety become increasingly deployed.   One thing is certain; the future of trucking will transform logistics and supply chain operations. Lockheed-Martin in cooperation with Peloton recently successfully tested a fleet of self-driving military transport trucks carrying cargo at 40 mph in an operational test in South Carolina. Such advances can be expected to soon find their way onto highways across the globe and the Alliance for Transportation Innovation is committed to creating the environment to advance these transformational technologies.
