Bob Suda

Bob Suda’s career covered 32 years in the Federal Government.  Currently, he is President and CEO of Suda and Associates, an independent consulting firm providing strategic advice on government initiatives to contractors on financial, procurement, and IT challenges. He is also the CFO of Connellyworks, Inc.  A PR , Marketing, and Events company.

Suda was the Associate Administrator and Director of the Department of Transportation’s John Volpe National Transportation System Center in Cambridge, Mass where he managed 500 Federal staff and more than 500 contractors in the area of transportation research at the Federal, State, and local government level.

He was the Associate Chief Information Officer for Integration and Operations for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He was responsible for managing the National Information Technology Center in Kansas City, MO, the Telecommunications Operations for USDA, and the end user IT support functions at USDA.

In April 2000, he was the Assistant Commissioner for the Office of IT Solutions (ITS) within the Federal Technology Service (FTS) of the General Services Administration and also managed the government-wide SmartBUY program providing software licensing through enterprise agreements.

From January 1998 to April 2000, Mr. Suda served as the Chief Financial Officer for FTS. Previously, Mr. Suda was the Director of Finance for GSA and the agency’s first Deputy Chief Financial Officer.

Other positions held included the Regional Director of Finance, Director of Financial Management, Director of Financial Policy, and the Director of Financial Systems for the GSA. He was the project manager responsible for overseeing the agency’s annual audit by an independent CPA firm. Under his direction, the agency received its first unqualified opinion in 1987. Bob has also held the position as Deputy Controller for the Public Buildings Service at GSA.

Prior to coming to GSA, Mr. Suda was the Controller for the A. Rifkin Co. located in Northeast Pennsylvania. He was responsible for the Treasury and investment decisions for the company.

Mr. Suda is a graduate of King’s College located in Wilkes-Barre, PA with a B.S. in Accounting and a minor in information systems. He is an active member of the Association of Government Accountants and is a Certified Government Financial Manager. He is the past Treasurer of the American Council for Technology and serves as the VP for Finance for the Industry Advisory Council.
